How are donations used at the Make It Foundation?
- Scholarships – The majority of donations to the Make It Foundation are used to support our scholarship funds for underserved communities.
- Maintenance and Stewardship – We carefully steward the natural habitat at our Retreat Center on the Kalama River.
- Operations – donations also support our staff and operating costs.
Volunteer Your Workspace and/or Skills
Do you own a workspace in the greater Portland area? Are you interested in supporting our mission of helping underserved communities obtain job skills training? Please reach out to us. We want to work with you to create additional pathways for assisting new makers and fixers. Your part in this process is integral! We cannot perform our mission without help from many community partners, both corporations and individuals who share our goal of helping people in need.
We offer many programs for companies and nonprofits to financially support the Make It Foundation. Please reach out to us if you would like to learn more.
Our scholarships are our primary way of financially supporting our target communities. We rely 100% on individual and corporate donations to support the fund. If you are interested in an endowed scholarship, or just learning more about how we are building pathways for maker and fixer education, please contact us.
The Welch Cabin
The Welch Cabin is available for corporate events, retreats or other gatherings. All proceeds from donations received for using the cabin, after maintenance expenses, go to supporting our scholarships.
